Vermont State Parks has various locations available in our campground volunteer program. Full- and partial-season assignments may be available. Campsites generally have full hookups with electricity; however, amenities vary by park. Many locations around Vermont are available. Please visit   for more information and to apply.
We are recruiting at the following state parks:
Brighton State Park in Island Pond, VT
Lake Shaftsbury State Park in Shaftsbury, VT
Maidstone State Park in Maidstone, VT
Smugglers' Notch State Park in Stowe, VT

Responsibilities

Campground volunteers work as part of a team of park staff to perform all daily operational and maintenance tasks in a Vermont State Park. Typical duties include working in the park office (general customer service, using the Aspira/Reserve America POS and reservation system), general campground maintenance, bathroom and campsite cleaning, mowing, light landscaping, serving as the emergency point of contact during off-hours when the onsite manager isn't available, and other duties.

Job Requirements

Volunteers work 30 hours per week, per site (for instance, a couple staying on one site works a total of 30 hours between the two) and receive free use of a campsite with hookups (most have water, electric, and sewer), propane refills, free admission to State Parks, and discounted or free admission to many Vermont tourist attractions. Volunteers provide their own self-contained camping equipment. All staff with pets abide by Park Pet Regulations and set an example for our guests. Application required: . Background checks required.
